What are job assignment codes?

You can store job number/cost element combinations in job assignment codes. If the job or cost element changes, you make modifications to the job assignment code, not to the file that references the job or cost element. You reference job assignment codes on the Org9 Setup screen and the Employee Details screen.

You can use job assignment codes in the following situations.

• To identify default jobs such as expense accruals for vacation or paid leave.

• If you use e-xpense, to identify default jobs for use in expense distributions and unallowable expenses.

In e-timecard, you use job assignment codes if you do not know the percentage up front; for example, accruals for vacation, sick, and holiday. You are required to enter a sequence number for each of the detail records that you create for the code. Sequence numbers refer to assignment titles that you define on the Valid Values screen. You can reference up to 999 different assignment titles within a single job assignment code.
