What are earning code defaults?
You can set earning code debit defaults for jobs, cost elements, and job assignment codes.
When an employee enters an earning code on a time card, or when e-timecard inserts the holiday earning code, the program first checks if job and cost element defaults are stored in Employee Earning Codes. If they aren’t, e-timecard then checks the Earning Codes screen. If it finds defaults there, then it automatically inserts them onto the time card. So, if you don’t want to set these defaults for each employee, your settings here in the earning code are important.
If you implement job assignment codes in e-timecard Initialization, then you can enter a job assignment code in the earning code. When an employee enters an earning code on a time card, or when e-timecard inserts the holiday earning code, e-timecard uses the earning code’s job assignment code to find the job and cost element to automatically insert onto the time card.
