Tracking vacation, sick, and holiday
Depending on your company’s requirements, you may need to track accrual of hours for vacation, sick, and holiday. You create separate earning codes for vacation, sick, and holiday to track the hours that employees charge.
To track accruals for vacation, sick, and holiday
On the Earning Codes screen, create the earning code to which employees charge their hours. Make sure that you select Yes or Display Balance from the Check Accrual Balance dropdown list.
If the code applies to all employees within the employee type, enter it on the Standard Codes screen.
When you create new employees and attach them to the employee type, e-timecard will automatically create the code for them. For existing employees, you must set up the code manually on the Employee Earning Codes screen.
If you set the Check Accrual Balance field on the Employee Earning Codes screen to Yes or Display Balance, then that screen's Balance Due field shows you the balance of hours in the employee’s account.
You can manually change the value in the Balance Due field if needed.
