Importing all files

If you choose to import all files, make sure that all required fields in each import file are filled or delimited.

To import all master files from a third-party product

  1. From the JAMIS Administration home page > Daily Processes tab, under Interfaces, click Import from Third Party. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Interfaces > Import from Third Party. The Import from Third Party to e-timecard/e-xpense screen appears.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow for Table Name and select +JTMF=e-timecard Master Files.

  3. Click the Append to Table check box if you want to update data in master files that have this option rather than replacing data.

  4. In the Location field, the path to the ASCII file that you created in your third-party software defaults from the Input Location of Interface File field on the e-timecard Initialization screen, Interface Options tab. You can change the path for this import if you wish.

  5. In the Delimiter field, enter the delimiter for your ASCII file. The default is a comma.

  6. Click OK to run the import.

  7. The Process Queue Setup screen appears. You can change the default options if necessary.

  8. Click OK.

  9. A dialog box appears with the process ID. Make a note of it and click OK. The program runs the import and places your process in the process queue.

  10. From the top of the screen, click Management > Process Queue. The Process Queue Management screen appears. Under Filters, your user ID and the status of Not Completed default, and the bottom section of the screen automatically lists processes that match these criteria.

    Hint:     If you do not see your process, select a different status from the dropdown list, then click Retrieve. For example, if you think that your process may be finished, select Completed. If you have trouble finding your process, you can select All to view all processes, though this may result in a large list.

  11. Look for your process ID to view the status of the import. The Status column shows that the process is pending, running, or failed.
