How do time card profiles use error messages?
During time card entry, if an employee makes an entry that goes against the time card profile, an error message appears. You can customize error messages. Then you select the messages on the Time Card Profiles screen. You can select a message for the entire profile or for a specific unit of time in the profile detail.
Hint: There are two settings on the Earning Codes screen that affect whether employees receive errors related to the time card profile:
If you check Include in Straight Time, e-timecard includes the earning code when calculating straight time hours.
If you check Used for Holidays, e-timecard validates hours employees charge to the code against the holiday hours that you enter in the profile.
The table below shows examples of different profile settings and indicates whether certain time card entries against these profiles would result in an error. In each example, there are eight hours in the holiday row in both the Regular From and Through fields.
