Using earning codes for holidays
When employees take holidays, they can charge to either the same earning code as regular time or to a specific earning code just for holidays. The benefit of using a specific code is the flexible reporting capability.
Using the regular code
If employees use the regular code to enter holiday hours, then you must check the box Used for Holidays. When you make this setting, you do not have to enter holiday hours on the Time Card Profiles screen; e-timecard uses the daily settings for error checking.
Using a specific holiday code
If employees use a specific holiday earning code, then you must set the Earning Class field to Holiday on the Earning Codes screen, and you don’t have to check the Used for Holidays box. When you make this setting, you can enter holiday hours on the Time Card Profiles screen for e-timecard to validate.
