What is jamiscron?

The jamiscron program runs as a daemon process in the background on your database server. It repeatedly queries the e-timecard database for requests to run interface programs. It starts the requested programs as separate processes and tracks them until they are complete.

e-timecard maintains the status of program requests in a database table that you can view. When you run a program, record the process ID. Then, from the e-timecard Process Queue Management screen, you can view the status of the program request.

Your system administrator sets the name and location of the cron script, as well as other parameters relevant to the cron, during software installation. If necessary, these settings should be changed by your system administrator. The JAMIS e-timecard Systems Guide contains more information about jamiscron settings.
