Setting overtime for sixth and seventh days worked
In addition to overtime for the regular work day or work period, you can set overtime or regular hours for the sixth and seventh consecutive working days. For example, if an employee works Monday through Friday then works Saturday, e-timecard uses the values that you enter for the sixth day to validate the employee’s entry on Saturday. If an employee does not work Monday but works Tuesday through Sunday, e-timecard would validate the Sunday entry as the sixth day.
If you enter hours for the sixth day but not the seventh, then e-timecard validates all consecutive working days after the sixth with the values that you enter for the sixth day. If you enter hours for the seventh day, then e-timecard validates all consecutive working days after the seventh with the values that you enter for the seventh day.
Prior to entering any values in the sixth and seventh day fields, you should determine:
Does your company pay for the hours at the regular or overtime rate?
How many hours do employees have to work on the sixth or seventh day before receiving premium pay 1, 2, or 3?
To set overtime for sixth and seventh days worked
Use these instructions in combination with the more detailed instructions for setting time card profiles for fixed work days.
In the Regular From and Through fields, for both the 6th and 7th day, enter up to two decimal places for the number of hours, if any, that the employee works at regular compensation. If the employee doesn’t have to work any regular hours on the sixth or seventh day to receive overtime, skip this step.
In the Premium Pay 1 From field, for both the 6th and 7th day, enter up to two decimal places for the number of hours that the employee must work prior to receiving premium pay 1. If the employee automatically gets premium pay 1 beginning with the first fraction of an hour worked for the sixth or seventh days, enter 0.
Repeat step 2 for the Premium Pay 2 and Premium Pay 3 fields, if they apply.
