Employee requests password by email


The employee indicates either that s/he is a first-time user or forgot his/her password. The system uses the following email format when it sends the password.

From: <e-timecard system address from Parameter Setup>

To: <employee’s email address from the employee master>

Subject: (message ET8170) Here is your temporary password

email body:

<name of employee>,

(message ET8175) As you requested, e-timecard created a new, temporary password for you. Your new password is:
<password>

(message ET8180) Next time you open e-timecard in your browser, enter your company, employee ID, and this temporary password, then click Login. The Change Password screen will appear. (message ET8185) Change your temporary password to a secret one that only you know. (message ET8195) Re-enter your new password, then click OK. To log in now, click the link below.

(message ET8193) Your new password must: (the system plugs in whichever of the following messages are applicable, as determined by your settings on the Parameter Setup screen)

(message ET8186) Have mixed case. For example, “SanDiego,” but not “sandiego.”
(message ET8187) Contain at least one alphabetical character.
(message ET8188) Contain at least one number.
(message ET8189) Contain at least one special character. For example, a hyphen (-).
(message ET8190) Be different from your employee ID or user name.
(message ET8191) Be different from any password you’ve used in the last <number> days.
(message ET8192) Have a minimum length of <length>.
