Deleting cost elements
You can delete an individual cost element. To delete a cost element table, you must delete all elements within the table first.
Warning: Deleting a cost element can lead to serious problems, especially if your company has billed costs. Exercise extreme caution. If you are unsure about the ramifications of a change, contact the JAMIS Support Center.
To delete a cost element
From the JAMIS Administration home page > Setup tab, under Master Files, click Cost elements. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Master Files > Cost Elements. The Cost Elements screen appears.
In the Filters section, enter one or more search criteria for the cost element that you want to delete. Your filter choices are: cost element table, cost element code, detailed description, status.
Hints: You can enter partial information in a filter field, such as 1 to retrieve all cost element codes that begin with 1, or %1 to retrieve all cost element codes that contain the number 1. You can leave all filter fields blank to retrieve all cost elements.
Click Retrieve to list cost element records that match the criteria you entered. The results appear in the bottom section of the screen.
If needed, scroll to find the cost element that you want to delete. JAMIS displays the records in ascending order by cost element table. You can sort the list differently by clicking the appropriate column heading once or twice.
Click Delete to the left of the cost element that you want to delete. A message asks you to confirm that you want to delete this cost element.
Click OK to commit your deletion.
Repeat the appropriate steps as needed to delete additional cost elements.
