Customizing messages
The Initialization screen, Messages tab stores the certification text for employees and approvers when submitting and approving time cards. The certifications are global settings, but you can customize them to whatever text your company requires. e-timecard uses your entries for these items as follows.
When an employee submits a time card, the Submit Time Card screen displays the Certification Text message at the top of the screen.
When an approver is viewing a time card on any screen from which s/he can approve it or viewing the Approval View screen, s/he can click Read Certification to the right of the Approve button or the Approve Selected button to see the Approval Certification Text message in a popup window. The approver can also read the certification in the tool tip for the buttons.
You
can also enter a Welcome Message to display after employees click Login.
You will find this useful if you need to provide information for employees
to read before they go about their regular entry and approval tasks.
It's important to note that if you enter welcome message
text, then the system ignores the employee’s selection from the Go to
dropdown list on the Login screen and instead brings the employee to a
message screen. If you want to give employees the ability to select an
area of the application to go to as soon as they log in, then you must
leave the Welcome Message box empty. Because this box is empty until you
make an entry, the e-timecard default is to bring the employee to the
option that s/he selects from the Go to dropdown list, not to a message
screen.
Note: If you wish to customize the text on the Login screen, you can do so by editing the LogIn.aspx file.
Follow these instructions to customize the text for e-timecard’s default messages.
